    The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1972-2003)

    • Director of Administration of the School of Law (1985-2003):  General administration of law school operations for flagship university with over 700 students.  Areas of responsibility included:  Human Resources, Financial Affairs, Information Technology, Faculty Support, and Facilities Management.  Examples of duties and initiatives follow.
      • Developed and managed $14 million annual operating budget
      • Recruited, selected, trained, and directly supervised staff of 20
      • Coordinated all employee relations
      • Designed and established positions as needed
      • Project coordinator for five year, 58,300 square foot addition to existing 102,000 Van Hecke-Wettach Hall (School of Law)
      • Initiated and oversaw law school conversion to networked computer environment, internet access, and email use
      • Initiated and oversaw major remodeling of classrooms to implement use of computer technology
      • Initiated and oversaw implementation of computerized financial record keeping system
