Born Indianapolis, Indiana. I spent most of my youth in Los Angeles, CA (attended
Huntington Park High School 1957-58; Tripoli,
Lybia USAF School 1958-59). My current home on the ground is in
Wilmington, NC. In 2003, I relocated to
Wilmington from the
Carrboro/
Chapel Hill, NC community where I'd lived since the late '60s.
I'm the proud mom of Shari Cox Martin, Larry and Gary Cox, and thrilled-to-be grandma of Edda Martin, Nicholas Seiver and Darby and Cameron Cox, and great grandma to Daniel and David.
My professional career (1972-2003) was spent at
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I retired August 1, 2003 from my position as Director of Administration for the
School of Law.

Community and University activities have been my avocations. I enjoy saying YES! to all good causes and therefore have had the pleasure of election and appointment to a variety of offices with my favorite activist organizations. These include:
